Our KES fourth graders have been learning about the Oregon Trail experience! They discovered that bugs invaded their food, so they whipped up "skeeter pancakes." Alongside, they churned butter, embracing the challenges of pioneer life.

Our 4th-grade students in the STEAM classroom are embarking on an epic Minecraft challenge to create a campsite for pioneers traveling The Oregon Trail! Before diving into construction, our students are putting on their thinking caps and getting creative with their planning process. Together, they're sketching out ideas for a historically accurate campsite that's equipped for survival. 🎮💡

We are excited to announce our upcoming Kindred Elementary Student Art Show, on March 19th, from 4:30-7:30 @ the Kindred Elementary School. Please come for a fun evening of art displays from Kindergarten to 6th grade students celebrating "Pop Art". Pop Art originated in the 1950s and is still a thriving contemporary movement today. We've learned about several artists in the movement and have been inspired by their work. Students have learned and created in various art mediums from drawing & painting, to sculptures & ceramics. Many fun art displays will be featured including an interpretation of a 50/60s themed Cafe. We are excited to celebrate our Young Artists, and look forward to seeing you there.

The second graders in Ms. Harker's class "go nuts for donuts"! Mrs. Meher is teaching them how to create donuts using magic molding clay. Look for these and many more pop art features at the KES Art Show March 19th.
