January 15, 2026 - Night At The Game - Community Celebration surrounding a double-header basketball game. Soup cook off, pep band, community choir, 50/50 raffle, games, and in 2026 a student-led "Who Do You Buckle Up For?" seatbelt awareness campaign. Anyone is welcome to sign a pledge card, display it in the commons, and spread the reminder that we all need to buckle up...every ride, every time, no matter the distance.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is proud to support local youth making a difference in our community.
Max Bernier, a Kindred High School senior, is raising awareness with Cass County School Resource Deputy JJ to raise awareness through the Kailee Mills Foundation, established in the memory of 16 year old Kailee Mills, who tragically lost her life when her seatbelt was removed momentarily.
Max’s “Who Do You Buckle Up For?” campaign kicks off tomorrow night at the Viking basketball game and will continue the following week during National Passenger Safety Week. We encourage you to join Max’s campaign and sign a pledge card at the game, sharing who you buckle up for.
A public service also ran on YourLiveEvent, the You Tube Channel that streamed the night's games. Max voiced the campaign and was the actor in the video portraying the teen killed on scene. The video was taken from a mock-simulation presented last spring by area first responders.
